Hughes Machine Shop is newly opened, and we're not going to pretend otherwise with a wall of stock photos and made-up reviews. What we will tell you is how we work — and you can judge us on the first job.

Big shops quote a one-piece repair last, if at all. We don't have a queue full of blanket orders pushing you to the back. Single parts get real attention.

Common questions
Before you send the print
How fast can I get a quote?
Within 24 hours on business days, and usually the same day if your files land before noon. If it's a machine-down emergency, call the shop directly — we'll work it up while you're on the phone.
Is there a minimum order?
No. We machine single replacement parts and we run thousands. A one-off costs more per piece because setup is the same either way, but we'll quote it honestly and tell you where the price breaks are if you'd order more.
What file formats do you accept?
PDF, DWG, DXF, STEP/STP, IGES/IGS, SolidWorks, Inventor, Parasolid, STL — and photos of a hand sketch. If you have no drawing at all, send us the part and we'll reverse engineer it.
What tolerances can you hold?
Routine work runs at ±0.005". We hold ±0.001" regularly and can get to ±0.0005" on the right features and materials. Tell us which dimensions actually matter and we'll tell you what's realistic.
Do you do finishing — anodizing, plating, heat treat?
Yes, through vetted local partners we've used for years. Deburring, bead blasting and tumbling are in-house. We manage the outside processing so you get one part number, one lead time, one invoice.
Will you sign an NDA?
Absolutely — send yours over or ask for ours. Your drawings and models are never shared, and we don't put customer parts on social media without written permission.
Do you ship, or is this local pickup only?
We ship nationwide via UPS, FedEx and freight for larger weldments. Local customers are welcome to pick up — and for shops nearby, we'll often run it out to you ourselves on a hot job.
